A Unique Ministry for anyone with Special Needs and Disabilities.
What is Embrace?
Embrace is a unique ministry intended for anyone with special needs and disabilities. This ministry is provided so that parents/guardians may attend service – or other church events – knowing that their children are being cared for in an environment of love, acceptance, and support.
How does it work?
- Our dedicated staff and volunteers do their best to give each student the opportunity to learn the Message of Jesus Christ alongside their peers of comparable age, while at the same time helping them learn at a level appropriate for their development.
- We use token boards, iPads, long-term incentives, and more to help our students succeed in a Sunday School classroom – regardless of their disabilities.
We have two Embrace classrooms – one upstairs and one downstairs – from which parents can drop off and pick up their child, unless other arrangements are made. From there, our staff pairs up with a student and brings them in to experience live worship with all of our New Life Kids (headphones are available for those who have difficulties with noise). After worship, our staff takes each child into a classroom that best suits their needs, which may include going back to the Embrace classroom for an adapted lesson.
“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” – Ephesians 2:10
Every year around Christmas, New Life has a special service for Embrace family, friends, and kids. Here’s the video from last year’s Masterpiece service.
