sound doctrine is critical because what you believe determines what you do. God has revealed truth about Himself so that we can be in relationship with Him. to pursue sound doctrine means to pursue the heart of Jesus.
We believe the Old and New Testaments are the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. In the Bible we find the revelation of God’s will for the salvation of humanity, and the divine, sole and final authority for the Christian life.
(1 Thess. 2:13; 2 Timothy 3:15-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21)
We believe in God the Father, Almighty, the Creator, Ruler and Sustainer of all things. God is infinitely perfect and eternally existent in three persons–Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God.
(Deut. 6:4; Isaiah 43:10-11; Matt. 28:19; Luke 3:22)
We believe Jesus Christ is true God and true man. He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life and died on the cross as a sacrifice for the sins of all humanity. He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven and is now at the right hand of the Father as our High Priest and advocate.
(Matt. 1:21-23; Matt. 28:6; Rom. 8:34; 1 Cor. 15:3-4; Philippians 2:9-11; Heb. 2:17; Heb. 7:26)
We believe the Holy Spirit is actively convicting people of sin, drawing them toward Christ, birthing them into God’s family, cleansing them of sin, overflowing them with love and joy, empowering them for service, giving them the spiritual gifts and evidencing His presence in their life through decisions and actions that align with the Bible and glorify the Lord Jesus.
(John 14:16-17; John 16:7-13; Acts 1:8; Acts 2:4; 1 Cor. 12; 2 Cor. 3:17; Eph. 1:13-14; Gal. 5:22-25)
We believe people are the supreme object of God’s creation, and are made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. Although every person has tremendous potential for good, people have been stained by sin, and that sin separates us from relationship with God.
(Gen. 1:26-27; Ps. 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6; Isaiah 59:1-2; Rom. 3:23)
We believe Salvation is God’s free gift to us, but we must accept it. We can do nothing on our own to pay for our sin or earn our Salvation. Trusting in Jesus Christ is God’s way of forgiveness from sin’s penalty. When we turn from our self-ruled life and turn to Jesus in faith, we are saved.
(John 1:12-13; John 14:6; Rom. 5:1-2; Rom. 6:23; Eph. 2:8-9; Gal. 3:26; Titus 3:5)
We believe in Water Baptism by immersion and Communion, in which the Bread and Wine represent the broken body and shed blood of Jesus. Both Sacraments are to be regularly observed by the church today. However, they are not to be regarded as a means of salvation.
(Matt. 26:26-28; Matt. 28:19; Rom. 6:4; 1 Cor. 11:23-26)
We believe the church is composed of all those who have made a personal decision of faith in Jesus Christ and are therefore born again into God’s family. Through this new birth we are united together in the Body of Christ. Jesus is the Lord and Head of the church.
(John 3:3-6; 1 Cor. 12:27; Eph. 4:11-15; Heb. 10:25)
We believe people were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. Hell is an eternal place of separation from God, reserved for those who have continually refused forgiveness from and relationship with Jesus. Heaven is an eternal place of union with God, reserved for those who have accepted God’s free gift of Salvation by grace through faith in Jesus for the forgiveness of one’s sin. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence.
(Matt. 25:31-46; John 3:16; Rom. 6:23; 1 John 2:24-25; 1 John 5:11-13; Rev. 20:15)

This Statement of Faith contains our sincerely held religious beliefs and practices. This Statement also provides the religious foundation for policies that flow from them as outlines in this document.
We believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in His image. We believe life begins
at the moment of conception. Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including
pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged, and every other stage or
condition from conception through natural death. We are therefore called to defend, protect,
and value all human life.
(Genesis 1:26; Jeremiah 1:5; Job 12:10; Psalm 139:13-16; Ephesians
2:10)
We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as biologically male or
biologically female. These two distinct, complementary sexes together reflect the image and
nature of God (Gen. 1:26-27). Rejection of one’s biological sex is a rejection of the image of God
within that person.
We believe the term “marriage” has only one meaning: the uniting of one biologically born man
and one biologically born woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture (Gen.
2:18-25). We believe that marriage between one man and one woman, for life, uniquely reflects
Christ’s relationship with His Church (Eph. 5:21-33).
We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who
are married to each other (1 Cor. 6:18; 7:2-5; Heb. 13:4). We believe that God has commanded
that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a
woman. We believe both men and women have different, but equally valuable and
complimentary roles in all areas of life and ministry.
We believe that any form of sexual immorality (sex before marriage, adultery, homosexual
behavior, bisexual conduct, bestiality, incest, or use of pornography) is sinful and offensive to
God (Matt. 15:18-20; 1 Cor. 6:9-10).
We believe that God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sin,
seeking His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ (Acts 3:19-21; Rom 10:9-10; 1 Cor
6:9-11).
We believe that every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity
(Mark 12:28-31; Luke 6:31). Hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes directed toward any
individual are to be repudiated and are not in accord with Scripture nor the doctrines of New
Life.
